Nik Barbera was awarded the American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fewlloship. Congratulations Nik! He becomes the third postdoctoral fellow from the lab to win this prestigious fellowship.
Biomedical Engineering undergraduate student Rita Anane-Wae is 2021 UVA Engineering Outstanding Student Awardee. Rita has been tremendously successful in her undergraduate studies. She will continue her career as a process engineer at Merck. We will miss her and wish her well.
Dr. Warren Anderson will complete his postdoctoral training in the Civelek Lab on May 31st, 2021. He will be a Principal Scientist, Translational Bioinformatics Late Stage Immunology, Cardiovascular and Fibrosis at Bristol Myers Squibb in the Bay Area. We will miss him and wish him well in his new position.
Diana Albarracin, third-year BME student, and Zhiwen Xu, second-year Biology student were awarded the Harrison Undergraduate Research Award. This is an award given to only 40 undergraduate students around the university every year. This is the second time Zhiwen won this award. Diana joins Lisa, Rita, Ngozi, Dillon, and Zhiwen as the latest Harrison Awardees. Congratulations to all of them.
