• Civelek Lab Alum returns for an industry career presentation

    Dr. Qianyi Yang, who finished her postdoctoral fellowship in November 2022, returned to campus to talk about her experiences as an industry scientist as part of the professional development series of the Cardiovascular Training Grant. She is now a senior scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals and shared her journey from academia to industry. She also managed to help to troubleshoot some Western blot problems during the brief time in the lab!

  • Noah Perry wins University-wide Teaching Award

    Ph.D. candidate Noah Perry received The Class of 1985 Fellowship for Creative Teaching this year. The Fellowship is offered to the graduate teaching assistant who best demonstrates exceptional creativity in teaching activities. This is the highest honor that the University of Virginia bestows upon a graduate teaching assistant among the university-wide nominees from tens of departments. Congratulations Noah! Your future students are lucky to have you as their professor.
